Beavertail Flotation Pods TIG Welded onto a Bass Tracker

A customer brought in their Bass Tracker wanting more float and better stability on the water. The solution was a set of Beavertail medium flotation pods - welded directly onto the hull using TIG welding. Not bolted. Not clamped. Permanently welded.

Here's why that matters. Flotation pods add buoyancy and widen the effective footprint of the hull at the transom. That translates to a more stable platform when you're standing up to cast, better ride in choppy water, and improved overall performance at speed. It's a real upgrade - not just a cosmetic one.

TIG welding is the right process for this kind of aluminum work. It gives us precise heat control, which is critical when you're welding to an existing hull that you don't want to warp or weaken. The welds are clean, strong, and fully fused to the boat - not sitting on top of it.

Once the pods were welded on, we blended everything in so it looked like it belonged there from the factory. That's the part a lot of people don't think about until they see two different finishes sitting next to each other. Taking the time to blend the work in properly is what separates a quality job from one that just gets it done.
