Custom 12K Winch Setup Built to Chain to a Tree

Sometimes the job site doesn't cooperate. No anchor point, no solid structure to pull against - just trees and whatever you've got on hand. That's exactly the kind of problem this build was designed to solve.

We fabbed up a custom 12K winch setup built specifically to chain off a tree and get to work. No permanent anchor required. The whole unit is built around heavy square tube steel with integrated chain hooks welded directly to the frame - not bolted, not clamped, welded. That's not an accident. When you're pulling with 12,000 pounds of force, you don't want anything on that rig that could work loose under load.

The welds on the hook mounts are tight and fully seated into the base steel. Every connection point on this build was thought through. The winch receiver and the chain attachment points are positioned so the load pulls straight and even - because an off-center pull at that capacity is how things go sideways fast.

This is the kind of custom fabrication work we do every day. Somebody had a real-world problem, and an off-the-shelf solution didn't exist for it. So we built one. Heavy steel, solid welds, designed for actual field conditions - not a showroom.
